Leon Hovsepian The Artist

Leon Hovsepian had his first exhibit at the age of 12 at the Grace Horne Art Gallery in Boston, MA.

He graduated from Yale University with a BFA in 1941 with high honors and was the recipient of the Alice Kimball Traveling Award. He taught at the Worcester Art Museum for over 40 Years.  He was an artist of versatility and national distinction.  His works include murals, sculptures, stained glass, as well as portraits of public figures and private citizens.  His extensive artworks are displayed in the collections of many museums, churches, and synagogues throughout the United States and Europe and are in numerous private collections.

He has worked in all mediums: Fresco, Watercolor, Oil, Egg Tempera, Acrylic, Silver Point, Mosaic, Pastel, Stained Glass, Charcoal, Pen and Ink, sculpture, sand sculpture.
